Honey Peppercorn Glazed Ham with Roasted Apples
Ingredients
- 1 fully cooked, bone-in ham (about 4–6 lbs)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp whole peppercorns, cracked
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary (plus extra for garnish)
- 2 apples, quartered (any variety — Honeycrisp or Gala work well)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- pinch of salt
Method
- Prep the ham and apples
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Score the top of the ham in a diamond pattern and place it in a large roasting pan. Arrange the apple quarters around it and drizzle the apples with olive oil and a pinch of salt.
Make the glaze
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cracked peppercorns, and rosemary. Let it warm until smooth and fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
Glaze and roast
- Brush half the glaze over the ham. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 1 hour, basting occasionally with pan juices.
Finish with flavor
- Remove foil, brush with remaining glaze, and roast uncovered for another 20–30 minutes, until the ham is glossy and the apples are soft and caramelized.
Serve
- Slice and serve with roasted apples and spoonfuls of pan sauce. Garnish with fresh rosemary for a beautiful finish.

Helpful Tips
- Make it ahead: The glaze can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the fridge — one less thing to prep on the big day.
- Budget bonus: Skip the pricier spiral-cut hams and buy a whole bone-in version — it’s more affordable, stays juicy, and gives you extra meat for leftovers.
- Flavor twist: Add a teaspoon of crushed red pepper or a splash of bourbon to the glaze for warmth and depth.
